Low-cost slope inclination observation solution for detecting landslides.

Using the new wireless communication technology "LoRaWAN" and the latest sensor devices, monitor slopes and inclines and record measurement data.

Information from slope sensors installed on slopes and inclined surfaces is collected via the "LoRaWAN network," a new wireless communication technology, and sent to a cloud data center. This allows for monitoring the status of each sensor from a computer or smartphone, reducing the burden of patrol duties. Additionally, in the event of rainfall or earthquakes that pose a risk of slope failure, alerts are immediately sent to the administrator, enabling quick decision-making from a safe location without the need to visit the site directly. Furthermore, to capture changes in the slope comprehensively, it is necessary to install a large number of multi-point (scatter-type) sensors on the slope. By leveraging the procurement network that Greenhouse has developed over many years, we have achieved practical accuracy and the functionalities required by many operators while reducing total cost of ownership (TCO). In addition to monitoring slope failures, it is also possible to download measurement values, making it useful as documentation and deliverables for routine inspections, such as ground inspection logs and weather observation records. *We offer a cloud service that allows you to monitor sensor information from a dedicated site. Please contact your sales representative for more details.

[Monitoring Case] Monitoring of Secondary Disasters on National Highway Slopes

Safe road opening while monitoring!

Due to heavy rainfall during the typhoon season, the slope facing the national highway collapsed. The national highway was blocked by the fallen earth, and since there were no detours available, it was necessary to urgently remove the debris and quickly reopen the road. Therefore, while monitoring the unstable earth that had not completely collapsed behind it using an inclination sensor, we set management criteria and conducted a conditional road reopening.

[Monitoring Case] Monitoring of Steep Slopes in Special Warning Areas for Landslides

Monitoring will be conducted during the period until the countermeasure construction is carried out!

In the steep slope area within the special warning zone for landslides (commonly known as the red zone), deformation in the form of opening cracks has been observed in the foundation of residential land above the slope, and root bending has been noted in the trees within the slope. Therefore, while implementing slope countermeasure works, we have established a system for monitoring using tilt sensors, setting and operating management criteria values, and issuing alerts when those criteria values are exceeded.

[Monitoring Case] Monitoring of Landfill in Residential Areas within Special Warning Zones for Landslide Disasters

Monitoring will be conducted during the period until the countermeasures are implemented!

During the heavy rain of the rainy season, the embankment in front of the residential property collapsed. To prevent further expansion of the collapse in areas that fall within the special warning zone for landslides, urgent slope stabilization work became necessary. Therefore, until the countermeasures are implemented, we monitored the ground behavior related to the expansion of the collapse using an inclination sensor.

[Overseas Monitoring Case] Bhutan - Monitoring of Unmanaged Slopes Along National Roads

Monitoring of road slopes in the happy country of Bhutan!

Many of the national road slopes passing through mountainous areas in Bhutan are simply cut into the mountains, and the slopes themselves are unprotected. As a result, during heavy rains, slope collapses and falling rocks frequently occur, leading to reported human and material damage every year. In response to this situation, we are using remote monitoring of slope behavior with tilt sensors and rainfall measurements with rain gauges as one of the decision-making tools for implementing measures such as road closures.

[Monitoring Case] Monitoring of Unstable Floating Stones - Safety Monitoring During Construction and Investigation

Safe construction work while monitoring!

During the drilling operations on a slope where cracks and unstable rock masses are prevalent, we implemented real-time automatic monitoring using an inclination sensor (Kantaro) as part of the safety monitoring during the work. We installed the inclination sensor (Kantaro) on a steel plate fixed to the unstable rock mass with anchor bolts to monitor its behavior. We established three levels of management criteria, and a monitoring system was created to send alarm emails to relevant parties when these thresholds were exceeded. Since the movement of the unstable rock mass is expected to occur over a shorter time frame than slope deformation, we adopted cumulative inclination angle in addition to the usual slope monitoring using normal inclination angle velocity.

[Monitoring Case] Monitoring of Labor Accidents During Recovery Work

Safe construction work while monitoring!

In 2016, the Kumamoto earthquake occurred, causing the Aso Ohashi Bridge to collapse. During the restoration work on the Aso Ohashi Bridge and National Route 57, it was necessary to carry out the work quickly while ensuring the stability of the slopes. By monitoring the ground behavior with an inclination sensor, we were able to achieve the safe and secure completion of the construction.
